In a recent analysis, ARTICLE 19 has closely examined a draft Cybercrime Bill (the Draft Bill) in The Gambia to assess its compliance with international freedom of expression standards.

Given the deteriorating environment for journalists and human rights defenders in The Gambia, ARTICLE 19, in collaboration with several civil society organizations, expresses deep concern that the Bill, if passed, could severely restrict online freedom of expression and dissent in the country.
